St. John’s Point Lighthouse, completed in 1831, is located on one of the longest peninsulas in Ireland, guiding ships into Donegal Bay. This lighthouse is renowned for its role in maritime history, including the wreck of several Spanish Armada ships in 1588. It was one of the earliest to be automated in Ireland, with the process completed in 1932.
