Tuskar Rock lighthouse, completed in 1815, stands off the southeast coast of Ireland and has earned a reputation for the many shipwrecks in its surrounding waters. This lighthouse was the third in Ireland to be electrified and remains a vital aid for vessels navigating the treacherous Irish Sea. Tuskar Rock also holds historical significance due to the tragic crash of Aer Lingus Flight 712 near the rock in 1968.
