Built in 1852, Dún Laoghaire West lighthouse stands on the West Pier, providing essential navigation for ships entering Dublin’s historic harbour. The lighthouse is the smaller of the two marking the harbour entrance and was fully automated by 1930. This picturesque tower is part of Dún Laoghaire’s rich maritime legacy, contributing to the harbour’s significance as one of Ireland’s largest and most important asylum ports.
