Blackhead (Clare)
Black Head Lighthouse, established in 1936, stands at the northernmost tip of County Clare, overlooking the Burren and Galway Bay. Converted to solar power in 2002, the lighthouse was initially built to assist transatlantic liners docking in Galway. Today, it serves as a reminder of the era when Galway Harbour was a bustling port for ocean liners, all while offering panoramic views of the rugged Clare coastline.
