Montauk Point

Located at the tip of Long Island, Montauk Point Lighthouse has been an essential part of New York’s coastal navigation since its first light in 1796. As the oldest lighthouse in New York State and the fourth oldest operational lighthouse in the U.S., it was built to help vessels safely navigate the rocky waters and dangerous shoals along the easternmost point of the island. Its iconic tower has become a defining feature of Montauk’s landscape and a critical point of reference for mariners traveling through the area.

Throughout its long history, Montauk Point Lighthouse has been instrumental in guiding ships away from the hazardous reefs and currents of the region. It has withstood the test of time, enduring harsh weather conditions and coastal erosion. As the lighthouse continues to stand strong, it remains a significant symbol of Long Island’s maritime history and a beacon of safety for those navigating the often-turbulent waters of the Atlantic.

Materials

Printed with archival pigment ink on 290gr art paper with a slightly textured silk finish.

Pigment inks are designed to be stable over long periods of time, allowing prints to be displayed (under proper conditions) for many decades.

All mounts and backing boards are lignin-free, alkaline-sized, pH neutral and are calcium carbonate buffered to enhance their useful lifespan by minimising the effect of atmospheric pollutants.
Sizing

Available in 2 sizes mounted in a heavy board and backing measuring:

- 20 x 20cm (8” x 8”) | image size: 15 x 15cm (6” x 6”)
- 30 x 30cm (12” x 12”) | image size: 20 x 20 cm (8” x 8”)

The mounted art print comes wrapped in a cellophane bag for extra protection. Each mounted print come with its own story and some fun facts included on an insert.

All mounted prints are also available in a white solid wood frame:

- For the 20 x 20cm print: the frame measures 20mm deep with a 20mm wide border
- For the 30 x 30cm print: the frame measures 30mm deep with a 30mm wide border

Our frames are made locally here in Ireland and constructed out of hardwood and painted white.

Avoid hanging in direct sunlight as this may cause the colours to fade and affect the paper.
