Nestled along the shores of Chatham, Stage Harbor Light has played a vital role in maritime navigation since it was first illuminated in 1880. Positioned near the entrance to Nantucket Sound, the lighthouse helped vessels safely navigate the region’s shifting sandbars and unpredictable currents. Built to aid mariners approaching one of Cape Cod’s busiest harbors, it was a crucial guide for those navigating these challenging waters.

The lighthouse originally marked a deep-water anchorage known as a staging area for ships waiting for safe conditions to round Monomoy Point and enter the Pollock Rip Channel. This safe harbor, located south of Harding’s Beach, was an essential stopover during periods of heavy fog and low visibility. Though the lighthouse was eventually decommissioned, its legacy endures as a symbol of Cape Cod’s rich maritime history and the ongoing challenges of coastal navigation.

Printed with archival pigment ink on 290gr art paper with a slightly textured silk finish.

Pigment inks are designed to be stable over long periods of time, allowing prints to be displayed (under proper conditions) for many decades.

All mounts and backing boards are lignin-free, alkaline-sized, pH neutral and are calcium carbonate buffered to enhance their useful lifespan by minimising the effect of atmospheric pollutants.

Available in 2 sizes mounted in a heavy board and backing measuring:

- 20 x 20cm (8” x 8”) | image size: 15 x 15cm (6” x 6”)
- 30 x 30cm (12” x 12”) | image size: 20 x 20 cm (8” x 8”)

The mounted art print comes wrapped in a cellophane bag for extra protection. Each mounted print come with its own story and some fun facts included on an insert.

All mounted prints are also available in a white solid wood frame:

- For the 20 x 20cm print: the frame measures 20mm deep with a 20mm wide border
- For the 30 x 30cm print: the frame measures 30mm deep with a 30mm wide border

Our frames are made locally here in Ireland and constructed out of hardwood and painted white.
