Poolbeg
Poolbeg Lighthouse, completed in 1768 and later rebuilt in 1820, marks the entrance to Dublin Port along the Great South Wall. Painted bright red, it serves as a guide for vessels navigating Dublin Bay. Its historical significance is underlined by the fact that its low water mark was used by Ordnance Survey Ireland as a standard height for mapping until 1958. Although decommissioned in 1981, the lighthouse remains a notable landmark for visitors exploring the coastline.
