Broadhaven lighthouse, completed in 1855, stands on the cliffs overlooking Broadhaven Bay in County Mayo. The lighthouse guides vessels through the Atlantic waters off Mayo’s rugged coastline and serves as a vital navigational aid for ships entering the bay. This is a harbour light also known as Ballyglass. Unlike its neighbour on Eagle Island it enjoys comparative peace tucked up on Gubbacashel Point, the most northeastern tip of the Mullet peninsula in Broadhaven Bay.
