Ardnakinna
Located on Bere Island, Ardnakinna Lighthouse has guided ships since 1850 at the entrance to Castletownberehaven, one of Ireland’s largest natural harbors. Originally built as a beacon, the tower was later converted into a full lighthouse (it only required a lighting device to be place on top, one which was sourced from a light-ship.), serving as a critical aid for vessels navigating the treacherous waters of Bantry Bay.
