Tory Island
Tory Island Lighthouse, built in 1832, stands on one of Ireland’s most remote and northernmost inhabited islands. The lighthouse has long been a beacon for mariners navigating the dangerous waters of the North Atlantic. Tory Island’s isolation and rich cultural history make this lighthouse a key part of the island’s unique identity. The name means "place of steep rocky heights” (Irish name Toraigh).
