Tarbert lighthouse, established in 1834, marks the entrance to the River Shannon and the approach to Tarbert, County Kerry. This lighthouse played a key role in guiding ships through the estuary’s busy waters and remains an important navigational aid for vessels entering Ireland’s longest river. Its position on the Shannon adds to its historical maritime significance.
