Loop Head Lighthouse, located at the end of the Loop Head Peninsula, has stood tall since 1854. Situated where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Shannon Estuary, it offers breathtaking views and is rich in history. During World War II, the large "Eire" sign added near the lighthouse was a marker for passing aircraft. Loop Head is one of three sites in Ireland that broadcasts a DGPS signal, enhancing maritime navigation accuracy.
