Bull Rock
Established in 1889, Bull Rock Lighthouse is located on a dramatic outcrop off the southwest coast of Ireland. Its most distinctive feature is the natural passage through the rock, giving it the nickname “passage to the underworld.” The lighthouse replaced a former light on Calf Rock, which was destroyed in a storm. Fully automated in 1991, Bull Rock continues to provide vital guidance to mariners navigating the wild Atlantic waters.
