Dún Laoghaire East
Dún Laoghaire East Lighthouse was established in 1847 at the end of the East Pier, marking the entrance to one of Ireland’s largest harbors. Dún Laoghaire was the base for the Commissioners of Irish Lights and is a significant site for maritime navigation. The lighthouse remains active and features a unique gun saluting station, one of only two in Ireland. Fully automated in 1977, it continues to guide vessels safely into the busy harbor.
