Kilcredaun Lighthouse, established in 1824, stands on the Kilcredaun Peninsula at the mouth of the Shannon Estuary. The lighthouse was built to guide vessels through the estuary’s waters and into the busy ports of Limerick and Foynes. Automated in 1941, Kilcredaun remains an important marker on the west coast of Ireland.
