Mew Island lighthouse, completed in 1884, is part of the Copeland Islands group and serves as one of the key navigational lights for Belfast Lough. The lighthouse replaced an earlier one on Copeland Island and was automated in 1996. Its towering white structure is a critical beacon for vessels traveling along the busy Irish Sea routes.
