Ballycotton
Ballycotton Lighthouse, established in 1851, is one of just four black lighthouses in the world, with two of them located in Ireland. It stands on Ballycotton Island off the coast of County Cork.
The lighthouse was painted black in 1902, and the tower has been fully automated since 1992. Ballycotton offers a striking view from the nearby village and has long been a significant maritime beacon for vessels navigating the southern coast of Ireland.
